Information
At the heart of the classified site of the Gorges du Tarn, Saint-Chély du Tarn is one of the narrowest places of the Gorges, the village surprises by its discreet appearance, almost hidden at the foot of the cliffs. Located on the left bank of the Tarn, it is connected to the main road by a bridge with a single arch which is its only access. The Moulin de Cénaret is nowadays converted into a craft shop. Twenty craftsmen and creators chosen for their originality and the quality of their works are exhibited. This old mill has the distinction of having been built directly on the waterway. The source flows inside the building where we clearly distinguish its old mode of operation. Of very old foundation, a priori medieval, the Mill of Cenaret seems to have stopped his activity there are several generations. It is in Sainte-Énimie that the last mill according to Gorges du Tarn ceased its activity in 1986.
