Our tips for travelling in an RV, a motorhome or a campervan:
> Plan your route carefully. Take into account the height and width of your vehicle, as roads in the Cévennes can be narrow and winding.
> Locate fuel stations in advance. Gas stations can be scarce in the Cévennes, so plan accordingly to avoid running low.
> Identify dump stations along your route. Ensure your itinerary includes stops at appropriate service points for your RV or campervan.
> Check overnight parking rules. Some collaborative websites may suggest locations where overnight parking is prohibited, so always verify beforehand.
Remember that strict parking regulations apply, especially in the Cévennes National Park’s protected areas, which are marked by road signs. Like all motorized vehicles, RVs and campervans are permitted on roads open to public traffic and to park for the day in designated parking areas within the Park. However, overnight camping – in tents, vehicles, trailers or any other type of shelter – is strictly prohibited in the natural preserve.
